is there a big camp place warehouse where you can try out a few tents that are already up? as thats what we did.

Lucycat · 06/03/2008 20:24

nah gdg, we have discussed living close to Manchester Airport though!

Biglips - Have been to Go Outdoors and they only had Montana 6 from Outwell (I think). Camperlands is near me but they don't even have the Vermont on their website so I don't think they'll have one on display.

There is Outdoor World in Warrington but don't know if there is actually a shop there to look around or whether it's just their offices or warehouse - Lucycat, do you know?

Yes you do need a tent that size, just picture your boys and all their stuff in it on a rainy morning! as well as cooking stuff, chairs table etc.

and it's not that big trust me! there are plenty of tents bigger in terms of ground space, the Vango Diablo 900 is much bigger and you see plenty of those about!

Lucycat - went to Yeomans which is at Hayes Garden Centre as you drive into Ambleside (tis huge so you can't miss it). Mum and dad live in the Lakes to just left dh and the kids at home and have had a weekend up here!

Mind you, Mum has been going on that we don't need one that big at all and really we should hire one anyway because she reckons we won't ever go again! Ah, she of little faith! I really fancy it - I've camped before. I like it! Can't see myself doing 2 weekers or anything but deffo weekends.

hey Novicecamper,
did you decide what tent to go for?I've been mulling over the L and XL too ,just worried about being turned away from campsites and I'm in ireland and can't find anywhere to even view the bloody things.

The XL does look really huge though, butI have 3 dd's ages 12, 10 and 5 so want some good living space as we're going to france for 2 weeks this summer.

I think the L would be ok for us now , but just thinking a couple of years down the line with the kids getting bigger and prob. wanting their own space.

Would we be squashed into bedrooms does anyone know?Hate waking in the morning with my face pressed into side of tent!

If you've got 3 children and you are doing a 2 week holiday - I'd go for the XL no problems.

We are going for the XL - decided. Just not got it yet.
