Anglesey

Thinking about camping in Anglesey in mid September. It would be me alone, planning to walk some of the coast path (from one base). Has anyone got any suggestions on campsites to stay at and/or recommendations for walks to prioritise/buses which make the return to the car easier? I'd aim to do some self catering but also eat out some of the time. Thanks

Tent? caravan? EHU?

Oh thanks, good points. Tent. No EHU needed. Middle aged on my own, so also interested if you felt safe there on your own/owners on site.

Totally not where you're asking about but Trawsdir does non-EHU, has wardens on-site. Near to the coastal path and the train and bus stops are walkable.

I've been looking at the Anglesey coastal path too and it's definitely on my to-do list! My mum lived in Beaumaris for a while and when our girls were small we had some incredible holidays there with them fishing for crabs from the pier, visiting the castle and the best ice cream ever at the Red Boat. We tried to camp once on Anglesey but had terrible weather (July) and ended up having to our our tent in the bin and going back to my mum's! But the campsite was at Red Wharf Bay and looked great (about 15 years ago!) If and when you walk it, I'd love to hear how you get on.

The coastal path is amazing. Loads of stunning but very different scenery as you go round.

I'd book into a campsite in Rhoscolyn, Caemes or Church bay but anywhere on the coast would work.

Also the buses are pretty good. The main ones run about once an hour during the day but you may need to walk out of your way to get to the stops as they tend to go through the towns on the island. You can pay with contactless.

Brilliant! Thank you! Yes I wasn't completely clear what I am asking, but these are very helpful responses.

We stayed on Anglesey a few weeks ago & found some groups on Facebook really useful. We weren't camping so I can't recommend any specific ones but they were great for discussing accommodation, days out, places to eat etc.
Have a great time - Anglesey is just beautiful!
