Is it necessary carrying with a portable solar fan like this for summer camping? Thanks.

Where are you camping? Certainly not in the UK unless during a heatwave.

If you are in Britain, camping on high ground means there's usually no shortage of fresh air, and even in summer the temperatures at night dip pretty low here.

I suppose it might be useful for keeping my SPAM cool.

Might it be useful? Possibly.
Have I ever taken one camping? No.
Would I consider taking one? No.

If it is very hot, the biggest issue can be finding proper shade to get some relief from the sun and for that we used to find the nearest pub!
If it is a muggy night it would probably provide a gentle breeze but how long is the battery life if no sun?

When I'm camping in the summer in the Uk I take a jumper and blanket
