Anyone going this summer? We haven’t been since 2016 and are excited to revisit. We’ve upgraded this time to a private sanitary pitch, which is making me much happier about camping!

I am sure you'll have a lovely time. The owners from 2016 sold it earlier this year, which is sad as they really were part of its charm- the new owners of course may be equally as lovely. Please report back!

If that's a shame it was sold. I how it keeps its charm. @MrsDisagreeable we were there in 2016 too along with loads of mnetters i think. Did you have a different username then?

MrsDisagreeable · 22/06/2023 17:57

Probably! We went a bit earlier in the season though, my kids were preschool age then. It wasn't very busy and we were the only Brits! Hoping the grumpy preteen will find other such creatures to hang out with this year!

@lidolemon - a review, as promised.

We're here now and having a lovely time. Site is more built up than last time - a few different pitch options and some cabin things. Definitely hasn't spoilt the vibe though, still feels very open, quiet and spacious. The restaurant has changed and now only offers burgers or pizza, which is a shame because I remember the restaurant here being lovely. Kids are happy with that though! Staff are lovely - mix of Dutch and French. They run a few low key activities for the kids (painting/boules/friendship bracelet making etc) and there are three nights a week when external catering is offered by the lake in the evening (food trucks).

Campsite chatter has it that there are plans afoot to develop it further, which I think might be a mistake. I love how quiet it feels. I think they'd need to consider also upgrading the pool area if they plan on increasing occupancy.

Is the lake still as good with the inflatables?

MrsDisagreeable · 16/08/2023 15:48

Yep, it's brilliant. This is my view right now! Can't get my two out of it!

@MrsDisagreeable thank you for reporting back. I knew that they had built a few more cabins and developed some of the land for more pitches as well as an indoor pool. It's a shame about the restaurant, I seem to remember they offered a few local dishes as well as the fast food fare.

I am not sure we will go back -partly because our kids are getting so old and much less likely to join us. But we have some good memories.
