re children; are readybed all-in-one types best, or separate airbeds and sleeping bags? (afraid particularly of dd1 falling out as she sleeps in v odd positions)?

god I am desperate to shop though we won't be going anywhere for ages

don't get ready beds, unless you are 100% sure that the kids will not have an 'accident' in the night.

Ds , whop has been clean and dry for 4 years, still has the odd accident while camping!

Plus if you gave an airbed and sleeping bag combo you can put a vlanket under the sleeping bag, on top of the air bed....inulation under you is *vital if you are going to stay warm.

You can then wrap another rug *over your dd, tucking her in to reduce slipping off the bed.

Ikea is a good place to get the blankets, we got outs at £4 a pop.

Ikea also good for pots and pans.

Asdsa for a camping set.

Don't buy the all in one picnic table and chairs, they wobble too much! An outs died after a while as i have a large arse!

Ready beds can be a PITA if you have a wriggler -I started a thread about this last year as my DS (turned 3 last summer) kept rolling over and taking the read bed with him which meant he would end up like a squashed snail with a ready bed on his back. He even managed it in the confined space of a tent.

Airbeds would also last longer size-wise.

okay then no ready beds

what about the mummy sleeping bags are they better/worse for children

dh and I will be zipping together so I guess we can't have these

Our dd's are proper little wrigglers and end up in a ball at the bottom of the sleeping compartment so they sleep on Ready Beds with cheaper envelope style sleeping bags inside (at Whit - in the summer they don't need them)
We have a double ready bed and a kingsize flannelette lined sleeping bag inside which I adore - sallystrawberry has the same one from Argos - watch out for them, they are quite often reduced to half price.

and yes cheapo picnic rugs underneath the air beds as extra insulation. Never underestimate how cold it can get in a tent in May!
