Heavy, very heavy.

and more difficult to dry/ more prone to mould

NaughtyNigel · 19/02/2008 08:46

Blandmum · 19/02/2008 08:48

and they also smell wonderful!

If you like canvas, but are interested in more modern designs, check out the Outwell Bear Lake. Sigh, a becautiful tent but just too heavy!

NaughtyNigel · 19/02/2008 08:48

too stupid to do links. discovered it on argos.com while fantasy tent shopping.
i do have a bit of a tent obsession... have 3 in the attic... DH only knows about 2 of them

Blandmum · 19/02/2008 08:51

tent porn for you!

NaughtyNigel · 19/02/2008 08:54

Yes Filly - thats the one - I do think it would be a poor substitue for the real thing.
mmmmmmmm tent porn
think i won't go to london this week - i'm off to birmingham! do you think the kids would hate me forever?

ok HERE is a bell tent

the other one has PVC windows FGS. How on EARTH are you going to light a campfire in it?

Oh btw my mum has one of the Cath Kidson teepees. Bascially, its really really great for a SINGLE occupant. But you can't really get a double airbed in there.

Its lovely in the morning though...

\link{http://www.outwell.dk/Administration/Images/Images/MainLargePicture/132.jpg/not a bell tent, I know, but god it is a fantastic tent!}

NaughtyNigel · 19/02/2008 11:31

must stop - the kids think i'm mad. keep reminding me it's february. but you do have to plan don't you.

i think i may be experiencing a bit of tent envy here....

i love the kids insert on the outwell website, but no prices???

we have both canvas and modern tents, i find the canvas warmer in the winter though. I went to the World Scout Jamboree last year and there were thousand of different types of tents form around the world but without a doubt the best ones were from scandanavia which came in a box, like the bottom half of a garden shed. the tent and equipment were packed inside and then the canvas went ontop, creating a little canvas topped house, with real beds!!

brill!!!

Are the Argos ones even canvas? They look like synthetic to me? Well the brown top bit anyway.

FloraPosteschild · 06/03/2008 18:46

And I think the door would leak...

I have put some links to the Obelink website where I got a couple of bell tents, very good ones, very cheap, the links are on another thread, too tired to remember how i put them on , type bell tents into the search for messages bit at the top of the page. Good luck.
