The only thing we use ehu for cooking is boiling a kettle. We always take a gas stove too (2 burners and grill)

PuttingDownRoots · 14/05/2023 08:41

We use the hook up for the camping fridge, but cook on gas or bbq.

Check your wattage carefully, some are lower than others. Our friends kept tripping with a camping hotplate last year!

We have a remoska (Lakeland sell them) we cook pretty much everything in it. It’s a mini oven and very low wattage so doesn’t trip any electrics! We use ours in the house between trips as well to save turning on the big cooker oven.

@LostItLinda that sounds interesting

What sort of things do you cook on it !

I have used my Air fryer on a hook up.

Lovetotravel123 · 14/05/2023 14:44

We use an induction hob or remoska. The remoska is used for heating up things like falafel and the hob is used for frying halloumi.

eternalopt · 14/05/2023 14:48

We take an air fryer and an electric hob to save on gas (and it makes cooking inside easier on wet days). And a camping fridge. And a toaster. And a kettle. (We have a trailer 😂)

EggInANest · 14/05/2023 15:55

I never have EHU, but I see people taking about Multi Cookers. And Tepanyaki grills.

peachypudding · 14/05/2023 16:00

We take a 2 ring induction hob.

there’s a Facebook group of owners too who share recipes. I adjust tray bake recipes to suit the lower temperatures, ie things take a bit longer but chicken cooked in a remoska can’t be beaten in my opinion! The remoska facebook people cook bread, cakes, roast dinners, all sorts, from scratch, stuff I can only aspire to as I’m a very basic cook but remoska cooked frozen croissant on a sunny Sunday morning are rather nice! 😍

We've got a Tower Multi Cooker, best buy ever for caravanning/camping. I don't use my caravan oven, I use this instead. Very reasonably priced too and very easy to clean.

We got a cheap airfryer from marketplace for £15, great for chips, wedges, pies etc. Also use travel kettle which I already had and travel hairdryer (not for cooking!)
