Just looking to book this for the summer and wondering if anyone has ever been there and whether it's super crowded in august

Busy in August but still lovely IMO. You have to book at the pub, but there’s always lots of nice food vans.
Which site?

@parrotonmyshoulder I am looking at Surfers paradise unless you have other suggestions 😊

Bay View is nice. Surfers paradise will be very busy but fun and closest to the beach.

We have stayed at Surfers Paradise, Ocean Pitch and Ruda (a Parkdean so stuff for the kids to do)
August is busy but we have never had problems getting in somewhere to eat, although I would advise booking for evenings.

Is the actual camping very cramped ?😊

We stayed at cherry tree farm which is a lovely spacious campsite, also close to the beach if you camp in the lower field. Better for families I think some friends stayed at surfers paradise and it seemed a bit more of a party vibe.

If I remember correctly Ocean Pitch and Surfers Paradise you don’t get allotted pitches/space you just find a spot and get set up but I don’t remember being cramped at all. The last few years we have camped on the touring field at Ruda as we upgraded from a campervan to full motorhome to fit the children in and the field based sites won’t allow them. At Ruda you get allocated pitches which guarantee your own space and are a great size.

Also stayed at Cherry Tree farm, near the beach and great for families.

Croyde is lovely - also recommend heading over the hill to Putsborough Beach - much bigger & quieter than Croyde with decent toilets.

We've stayed at Bay View during the summer school holidays. Not cramped at all ( I'm fussy about that as we have a large tent ) the beach was always busy but it's so big it never felt crowded. It was a pain at times to drive out to get supplies from the supermarket as the roads are so busy but once in Croyde you walk everywhere so it's fine.

Thanks all ! Am going to book Cherry tree farm

Even bigger bonus is that it's my favourite Enid Blyton novel when I was a kid
