Our UK Camping forum has all the information you need on finding the right equipment for your tent or caravan.

Eurocamp/Canvas etc - do any of them offer hols where you can take your dog along?

We live in Europe and would like, if possible, to take our dog along on hols, but want to stay in one of the mobile home options. Does anyone know if it one of the big companies allows pets to stay in their mobile homes?

Yes - Keycamp have just started offering dog friendly holidays this year. Limited to about 20 sites though I think.

We really really wanted to take our dog with us to France/Spain this year but have had to change plans as couldn't find a workable option.

Its a good thing really though as he's just failed the rabies test for his PETS passport - not produced enough antibodies...which would have meant we couldn't have taken him abroad this summer now anyway.

Good luck - I'd love to know how taking your dog goes.

Someone recommended hiring a camper van abroad as the best option to me.

Thanks piskie,

I actually discovered that because we live in Europe (Luxembourg) some of the companies allow you to take pets if you book through their European websites rather than their UK ones because the restrictions on pet travel in Europe are predominantly from the UK side.

We are probably going to try to go with Eurocamp in Europe (also own Keycamp, I think).

Hope that your dog can go on hols with you sometime soon! We brought our dog to Luxembourg with us when we moved so I know what a hassle the whole passport thing is!

BB book directly with your chosen campsite rather than Eurocamp - they all offer their own mobile options and tend to be more dog friendly/cheaper!
