Northumberland coast

Does anyone have an itinerary for this? I'd like to do the coast (driving) but have no idea where to start/stay. Do I stay in one place and drive locally or pitch up between villages?

Any advice/info would be most welcomeSmile

Personally I would stay in one or two places and drive between, but I hate having to take tent down etc, so it depends on your set up.
Definite places to visit:
Bamburgh - you could stay at Budle bay as it’s only a 5-10 minute drive and you have easy access to the bay.
Alnwick - Barter books, Castle etc
Ingram - great to have picnic by river or walk to Linhope Spout waterfall
Warkworth- amazing beach and a castle
Beadnall- again amazing beach and some great pubs - could combine with Dunstanburgh Castle
Holy Island
further inland Bellingham - walk up to Hareshaw linn and have Sunday Lunch at fountain cottage (best I’ve ever had!)
Also check out one of the Running Fox cafes that are throughout Northumberland.
Again inland but a bizarre and interesting morning is Chillingham Castle (said to be most haunted in England)
National trust have two properties- Cragside and Wallinton which are worth a visit.
