Lake District sites

We haven’t camped in the Lakes in over 15 years (pre DC). Looking for recommendations. Will be for van and tent. Looked at The Quiet Site which appeals but £50 per night! We like Ullswater but not committed to it. Have DC 12 and 15 so a games room and field to hang about on would be nice.

The National Trust site at Wasdale Head is beautiful. And you can go to the pub for food or amusements.

When you say Ullswater, do you mean the Park Foot site? That’s what I was going to suggest

We stayed at Waterside Farm/house in Ullswater recently. Direct launching for canoes/paddleboards. Cafe. Small shop. Walkable to Pooley Bridge (about 15mins adult pace).

No complaints, other than other people not supervising children adequately, which happens in a lot of campsites now.

Just looked up the Park Foot and Waterside sites. Both look good. Thanks for the suggestions.

I feel North Wales has more to offer and usually better weather
