What do I take in the way of bedding please?! Bed and mattress and (rubbish) pillow provided so taking fitted bottom sheets, duvet cases as top sheets and a decent pillow and blanket each but do we need sleeping bags?! 3 very hot sleepers and 2 less so?! 5 of us going and trying not to overpack!!

Are you driving? Weather looks good so I don't think you'll need anything extra but if you happen to have a mattress topper and have space in the car take it. Saved our backs many static caravan holidays in France.

We are driving but taking 3 T kids (2 of them teenagers), 3 bikes, 2 paddleboards and 3 bodyboards so really keen not to take anything extraneous to requirements. Don’t have a mattress topper but thanks for the tip 😊

Awww bless you. We've just come back from the loire with 3 teenagers so know the challenges and the rewards!

Oh wow sounds lovely!! We’ve been once before pre Covid and looking forward to going again (different campsite) with older kids. We’ve got a van so lots of space but it’s easily filled 🤦🏽‍♀️

I love Biscarrosse and wanted to go again but was outvoted this year! Are you on a campsite - which one?

The pillows may well be French ones which don't fit your pillowcases : we've had years with very odd-shaped uncomfortable things from squashing a different pillow into our cases.

Have a wonderful time!

GU24Mum · 08/08/2022 22:31

Sorry, read too quickly but have seen you're already taking pillows so ignore my last post. We haven't taken sleeping bags before.

Motherhubbardscupboard · 08/08/2022 22:36

Currently in Biscarosse but in a mobile home. We are sleeping under sheets, thin duvets have been provided but we're not using them. It's warm here overnight but not super hot. In a tent your colder sleepers might want something more than just a sheet. And I'd want a mattress cover not just a bottom sheet.

Good tip thanks I’ll strip the beds at home of those to bring!!

GU24MUM yes we’re going to a canvas site - Mayottes Vacances. We were further north pre Covid at Montalivet.

@LazyDoll Mayotte vacances is where we've just returned from (also with older kids). We all really liked it, hope you have a great time.

Oh WOW small world!! Mine are 11/13/15 and I’m looking forward to the older two especially having more freedom!! Any tips!? I’m assuming we can use our own paddle boards at the lake?! How long does it take to walk to the lake?

The lake is fantastic, shallow and warm, lovely uncrowded sandy beach. You can use your own equipment, we had a large inflatable boat. The site is one of the smaller I've been to so it's a short walk to the lake, just a few minutes. There is a teen club but mine didn't join it so I can't comment on that. Top tips would be definitely do the inflatable Aquapark that you can see across the lake, it was really good and ideal for teens. And also if you want pizza/chips etc in the evening, you need to pre order from 3.00 at the takeaway place - we didn't realise and were a bit stuck one evening!

Motherhubbardscupboard · 13/08/2022 18:12

And bring table tennis bats and balls 🙂

LazyDoll · 14/08/2022 23:17

Perfect thanks so much!! I’d spied that park on Google maps and thought it looked fab. They did a similar one in the U.K. last year and we all loved it! Will definitely check that out. Top food tips too thanks and great to know to pack all the inflatables!!!!
