Hi

Can anyone recommend a dog and family friendly campsite that's within walking distance of a beach please.
Would consider anywhere in England/Wales

Thanks

Sandy Haven in Pembrokeshire. It’s small and basic but one of the best beaches and quiet

Creekside Family Camping at Anderby Creek Lincolnshire.

Lovely site and owners with a 10 min off road walk to the beach.

you used to be able to walk to Pollyjoke beach from Trago Farm campsite in Newquay. Also Trevornik campsite, but that was a much longer walk.

Pembrey country park

There's one in Seatown near Lyme Regis. I can't remember the name but it's right next to the beach.

Ocean Pitch or Freshwell camping in Croyde (they are next to each other). Fantastic views over the beach and just a short walk down.

Sennen either the camping club site or the private/caravan and motor home affiliated site next door.. path down to the coastal path where you can walk right around to Sennen Cove and onto Lands end and a nice beach just at the bottom of the path itself..

We have a Motorhome so always aim for walkable to the beach. There are lots in Cornwall we hab people tried:
Mother Ivey’s Bay has its own private beach and walkable to 2 others.
Pentewan sands, again has its own beach
Gwithian Farm, on the other side of St Ives Bay to St Ives
Polmanter Touring Park
Trevedra Farm

Kiln Park, Tenby.
Hendre Mynach, Barmouth
Aeron Coast caravan park
Pembrey country Park

Was also going to mention creek side at Anderby creek as the beach also allows dogs on (a certain side- all sign posted) and the pubs (2 and a cafe) are dog friendly too

MrsMigginsCat · 06/08/2022 19:15

Tregedna Farm at Maenporth near Falmouth, Eype House near West Bay in Dorset are two we've done in the last year. We're off to Little Trevothan near Coverack on the Lizard over the BH weekend this year. We live in Cornwall so there are loads of sites nearby.

Aberafon, North Wales. Beautiful sea view pitches, direct access to the beach.

blobby10 · 08/08/2022 09:46

It depends on how far you class as too far to walk to the beach! We use Watergate Bay Touring Park just north of Newquay in Cornwall and walk to the beach but I wouldn't want to do it with toddlers and all the 'stuff' you need to take with them. Its between 1/4 and 1/2 mile down to the sands and the coast path and perfectly doable with children old enough to carry a bag for life each and their bodyboard.

SaffyWall · 08/08/2022 09:54

Filey Brigg in North Yorkshire is verd close to the beach.
