Camping with DDog. Help.

So we'll be going camping with DDog for the first time next month.

Give me your best tips please!

Some questions to consider:
Think through how your dog will be contained: will it be tied up (what to?) Or fenced in with eg beach wind breaks.
How will you keep it cool if it is very hot? (our dog came close to getting heatstroke because there was nowhere cool for her to flop in the tent)
How will you keep dog from eating food? (We have a big lockable plastic trunk for food)
What will you do with dog if you can't take it to do activities (eg if you go swimming)
Will your dog bark at neighbouring campers?

In a tent? Has your dog slept in a tent before? If not at least have a trial run in the garden first! My dog would go utterly nuts if I tried to bring her in a tent with me. You don't want to find out the hard way!

In my experience, although it seems on paper that camping with a dog would be a great combo, it's a massive pain in the arse. I take mine if I have to, but try to get someone else to look after him if I can. Its quite hard containing them and difficult if it's hot or wet.

We've been to the camp before, there's plenty of shade and a dog shower so hoping it's ok.

Everything is put away, it's DH eating all the food that I'm more worried about

There'll be other DDogs camp king with us so should t be a problem as we're used to Dog Friendly activities.

Luckily she'll go anywhere I go.

@PritiPatelsMaker I found the worst thing about camping with our two dogs were the wet noses sniffing us during the night as they weren't used to us being to close to them! Ours were contained in the kitchen/diner downstairs at nighttime. We always tired ours out playing cricket or chase on the beach so once we got back to the tent they just flopped and slept either in the back of the car or outside the tent. They pulled up the corkscrew things several times heading off to welcome the children back from a shower or washing up.

Important one - remember the ddog's food.

Not always. 😉 You can camp in the car, in a hut, in a cave, under the stars... Some people call staying in a caravan or lodge on a campsite 'camping' too.

Leave it at home. With a dog sitter/walker. Simple.

It's a bit like being away with a toddler. One of us would need to be with ddog at all times, so we just had to coordinate shower and toilet visits accordingly.

We used to take our doggie's old crate along and he slept in that happily, with no worries about him finding his way out of the tent while we were asleep.

He loved camping with us.

Main consideration for me would be how hot it's going to be. Hard to keep a black lab cool in a hot stuffy tent and I would want to avoid walking her during the hottest hours of the day so we would be restricted on what we could do.
We have camped with her many times and to be honest it's always been fine, many sites have dog walking areas where they can be off-lead and run for a ball etc so I look specifically for those. If you want a recommendation for south west or the North east I can let you know some good sites I've visited.
