Is it worth buying a tent carpet or will a waterproof backed picnic blanket do the same job??

I'd buy a waterproof garden carpet because then you can use it in the garden afterwards.

I love a tent carpet, so cosy.

We bought a tent carpet in a sale. It's brilliant! It's got Velcro strips so will go around internal straps in tent. It just makes the tent feel more cosy somehow! It's much nicer to walk on than a bare groundsheet and is more insulated- important in the UK!

We've got a couple of woven rugs at home we just take with us. Looks lovely and keeps tent very cosy.

We have a very large picnic rug which we use as a carpet in our trailer tent, which works just fine.
However if you can get a tent carpet which is designed to fit your tent exactly, I would do it. Our trailer is too old to buy a fitted carpet.

We loved our carpet. Nice and cosy!

We used a huge picnic blanket I got from eBay.

Many thanks for the reply, I’ve bought a universal tent carpet so really hope it fits. I aim to buy something each year to build up our gear!

That should say for the replies!

Ours came with the option of a fitted tent carpet, so glad we went for it. It comes into its own on a rainy morning when the kids can just loll about on it all snug. I would suggest you also get crocs/sliders on the for all campers and a lightweight doormat. No shoes on nice rug makes for an easier breakdown.
