Comfortable weather for camping

We have our first tent camp in Vendee this year, last week of July.

Last year in that week it was raining and temps were 15/16. That's cold right? Is that too cold to enjoy camping? I have a Coleman Octagon 8, and all of the reviews suggest it's not a winter tent.

Its only too cold to enjoy camping if you go unprepared and expect to sit around in the tent reading ! Take warm jumpers and waterproofs and plan lots of walks.
When we camped in the Vendee the weather wasn't great but even in the rain it was warmer than Cornwall would have been.

Thanks, that's true. We're actually at a Yelloh so probably would be more disappointing if it was too cold to swim than too cold to camp, just having a wobble because we've only had caravans and camp pods before. It's our first year without a dog to take, so first tent.
We always go end of summer for that last week of August when it gets a bit cheaper and you expect it to have cooled down, so I had it in my head that July was height of summer, it might be more similar to our usual holiday weather than I realised.

I hate getting cold, but camp happily on the UK Easter-October. Its about having the right equipment.... a good quality sleeping bag for example and I take my dressing gown and slippers.

Rain is more of an inconvenience really for cooking and toilet trips... and for getting stuff dry!

I bought an Oodie type thing for winter, maybe I'll bring it along.

itwasntmetho yes!! Definitely take your Oodie! Mine is already packed in the trailer for my trip to Cornwall next week! I have also packed five blankets and a halogen heater thing that the previous owners left in the trailer tent Grin
