Co sleeping while camping

Hello

Taking my 9 month old camping for the first time. (England in May)
We have a travel cot but I expect we'll end up co-sleeping and want to do so safely.
I understand an airbed isn't safe.
Can I take a thermarest, or big playmat/2 yoga mats?
Is a sleeping bag or blankets better for me?
Baby has a sleeping bag already, I assume he can use that.

Thank you!

Self inflating mattress or roll mat would be my suggestion. Sleeping bag for you and maybe a hoodie so you can push the bag down.

There are also special air beds for babies with raised edges, I used that when mine were small and it worked fine

I used a self inflating sleeping mat (very firm), with a fitted sheet. And a 3.5 tog slumbersac with long sleeves for the little one.

The sleeping mat was a double, so perfect for co-sleeping.
