finally persuaded DH to get a new tent Grin
just have to wait the best part of 2 months for it to come, but excited for it
hoping technical cotton will mean it is warmer than our current one

It's also cooler in the summer under hot sun 😀

we tend to camp in Scotland - so not usually a problem Wink

I wish to boast about our recent Scottish camping trip - it didn't rain!

I have just ordered a new tent! A vango star grove ii 600xl. Looking forward to trying it out. I bought one last week off of marketplace ( a different one) which was advertised in like new condition. He'd put it up the day before apparently to check it over and it was all fine. I tried it up yesterday and it's got mould all over. Disappointing. I should have checked it over first.

Yes! 2. St. Andrews then Huntly a few weeks later. We went to Huntly last year which was fab. No rain which was lucky in Scotland. We went somewhere else in august which rained for 2 days. It just poured for 2 days. We had to cross a Ford to get out of where we were camping and I got eaten by midges. We actually left a day early. A beautiful setting but never again! It's why I wanted to get a tent with a separate part for cooking in. The last one was much smaller.

This was the rain and the Ford we had to cross. It went up to our knees in the middle!

How was your camping trip @ClosedAuraOpenMind? And where did you go as I'm close to Yorkshire 😄?

ClosedAuraOpenMind · 13/06/2022 08:17

not been yet @OceanAtTheEnd - next month. but heading to the Hideaway at Baxby Manor if you know it....
and open for any suggestions of places to visit - if it's not too cheeky to ask

Love tc tents :) that looks a good one.....so much more breathable and comfortable
And in my experience have been great in torrential rain and also south of france heat -also helped by a tc tarp..
Worth planning a trip south to test out the heat properties

@ClosedAuraOpenMind, we've been to Catgill a few times now, and really like it there. I've seen it recommended a few times on here, and it's definitely justified.
