Decathlon air camp bed base - which pump?

Calling all Decathlon inflatable camping bed base owners...

I have just purchased one but I'm confused about what pump I can use. Do I have to use one that's suitable for pumping up air tents as per the one Decathlon recommend & so I can inflate to 6 psi, or will any old air bed type pump work?

Space in our car is limited and I've had to downsize some other kit to make room for this, and the recommended pump isn't small!

Get a 12v pump that you can plug in your car's 12v socket, just make sure you have the right adapters for your bed & the tent. 12v pumps are tiny & most will fit in a corner of the boot or inside the car, most are digital & you select what psi you want & the pump cuts out at the right pressure.

Thanks Nat6999, I'll look for one of those.

Just check that it goes up to that PSI. Those camp beds need to be good and rigid.

I had exactly the same query about this bed base #greatminds

The decathlon pump is gigantic! However, Nat6999 solution won't work for me as I won't have a car. Has anyone tried using different (smaller) pumps, other battery or manual?

I'm looking at buying one of these bases and was wondering if I could use the car tyre pump that I always have in the car rather than buying the pump it's advertised with?

I've just picked up one of these 12v car pumps from Go Outdoors www.gooutdoors.co.uk/15910202/maypole-12v-air-compressor-auto-digi-15910202 but it's not got the big adapter that the air base needs.

Not sure now whether to try and get a bigger adaptor to fit, look for a smaller manual pump, or give up and buy the Decathlon one. It shouldn't be this difficult 😃
