When do you start touring?

All you all Year rounders ? Or do you start at a particular time like Easter?

Interested as I hate booking a site then it's just constant rain the whole time !

When we camped when DC were small we used to start at Easter.
However, when Easter was early one year, it meant we did wake up to snow!

We do last minute weekends this time of year so we can be confident in the weather.

All year round.
I love being tucked up inside with card games, good books, snacks and a dvd while the rain is rattling down outside.
I much prefer the low season.

We are going camping on Friday, tent camping that is. I have a -5 sleeping bag and thermals!

We seem to have Easter as this magical time to get out camping, its usually wet often very cold and I too have seen snow!
Just look now last week has been fantastic weather but snow forecast for next week!
We have used Caravans and camper vans all year around they are too expensive to just use in our short summer, you can usually find a place to see or go to if it rains, its about the quality time together

As a child/teenager we used to start in March and end around bonfire night (parents in caravan and us in pup tents). We slept in wind, rain snow, frost and had to decamp in the middle of the night more than once due to floods. As an adult we have been camping in a bell tent with log burning stove early March. I did want to spend NYE in the bell tent, unfortunately life events put a stop to this but I did a garden camp in my small tent a few weeks ago and often garden camp in February.
