After several years of UK camping, we are tentatively
thinking of going abroad next summer again. Want to explore a new area and are thinking about the Alsace region perhaps for a week.
However, we will have more time than a week, so was wondering about other areas to add onto this area to make a roadtrip. We will be using Calais/Dunkirk, could possibly use Hook of Holland one way.
Have discounted the Loire and anything much further south than Dijon because of the add on to the drive. Considering Burgundy, we have visited Guedelon before but will need things for teenagers to get excited about (wine is not one of their highlights!
). Like the look of a site near the Morvan regional park.
Or, we could go Western Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium?
Any recommendations for good bases to visit attractions or campsites? Our ideal sites tend to be smaller than 250 pitches, a pool is always welcome, fresh bread/shop nearby, onsite food a bonus.
