Looking at purchasing a caravan for our family.
Currently have a folding camper but we do want a caravan.

To those who have a caravan do you recommend? Do you genuinely feel you make the most of it?

We went from folding camper to caravan. It is lovely snd nicer than my house! We do use it. I think for a family having a large awning may be essential.

Get lessons to tow and reverse it then crack on.
We went away many times in ours even in the winter as you can easily keep a caravan warm.
When the kids where about 5 of 6 we went away on a regular basis even through the winter and sometimes only local but they loved it and we did too had some great family time, ours was a 5 berth but it would easily sleep all 6 when we took the inlaws.
Once all the kids activities and teen age years kicked in we hardly used it. Then when they got to around 17 we bought another and went away a bit, now DD has her own camper van and we go away in two campers.
Its great quality time.

@MsMiaWallace
Late reply. Yes we have had a caravan. Got when the kids were 8 and 10. They loved it and I wished we had bought one sooner. We bought the 6 birth which worked well. As they got older we exchanged for a fixed bed and front benches which were ok until on became really tall

We bought to use for half terms and other school holidays and still fly in summer. Ended up using it for a few years for everything we loved it so much. Have done so much if France and was amazing.

We have recently sold it as we know the next couple of years we can't use due to exams and revision etc, plus have some flying holidays booked. The market being so mad currently we sold it for virtually what we paid new.

We may revisit it in a few years when DH and I start winding down a bit as we found sitting outside and the outdoor life magical. The kids have some amazing memories.
