Campsite recommendations for late October?

Bf and I are planning to go away for a few days over the end of Oct/beginning of Nov 😊

We are borrowing a largeish Campervan from a family member so we'd like to stay at a site that we can use as a base and then explore the nearby area on foot or public transport to avoid having to drive the van around everywhere.

Money is a little tight so we'll be doing mostly free and outdoorsy activities, like walking, ideally (unless the weather is really bad 😆).

Does anyone know of any sites open at this time that would be suitable in the Devon/Dorset/Somerset/Gloucestershire kind of area? We live in the south west and would like to explore a bit but would prefer not to have a whole day of driving so we can maximise the time we have away 😊

Thank you 'o lovely knowledgeable people!

Hello, do you need electrical hook up? Do you have kids? And if so what ages? Do you have a bike rack and can cycle as a family (sorry for the questions!)

No kids! Site itself can be as basic as necessary, we can make our own fun, although if it does have more 'stuff' that's fine too.

We would like to take bikes if possible 😁

Probably will need an electric hook up, if only for the heater in the evening 😂

I like these guys. Pub is closeish (1 mile) and there were cycling paths I think

Two Counties in Mere is nice

How about Moreton in Marsh? The caravan site itself is a short walk into Moreton, and you can get the bus from right outside the site to Chipping Norton, Oxford and Stratford

We really like Cofton in Dawlish, Devon and Highlands End in west bay, Dorset. Both lovely sites with lots of places to walk / bus to.

If you want to walk a lot then I think highlands end would have the edge, it's right on the coastal path which is just gorgeous.
