How bright are camping lanterns?

Looking for something to give enough light for DC to do homework whilst sat in the car waiting for sibling to do an activity. Battery powered.

How about a head torch?
I would have thought a decent battery powered lantern would be fine though..

We have a £7 lantern from Go Outdoors. It would be plenty bright enough for that purpose.

Ok, will go with what the local shop has. I only remember the lantern from when I was a kid and that definitely wasn't bright enough to read from!
