Cable for electric hook up - any recommendations?

New to camping so a bit of a novice when it comes to what equipment I need - this forum is a godsend!

Looking for recommendations on a good cable for hook up. What length is best, they all seem to be 15m, is that the usual? Also, stupid question but what can you plug in? (scared I'll overload it and blow the fuse!) Would it take an electric kettle?

TIA

A caravan electrical lead from Halfords etc will be fine. Most sites are 16 amp hook up - if electricity is provided, but check. 15m is standard and usually enough.
16 amp if fine for a kettle. All appliance have their amp usage stamped on them, just don’t exceed whatever the site supply is.

Kettle, camping toaster, tv are all fine. I have a travel hairdryer. If you go abroad then French sites are mostly 10 amp.
