I’ve picked up some of those fun moisturising facemask sheets that have animal faces in them, thought that would be nice one evening.

What little things are you taking this year?

Glow sticks
Marshmallow toasting kits if you don’t have a campfire
Hot chocolate stirrers
Giant jenga
Inflatable pass the pigs game

BunnyRuddington · 25/06/2021 19:04

Oh those are good ideas, thank you. I’ve already got the glow sticks and we’ll take the sticks for marshmallows.

Loving the idea of the hot choc stirrers and I will definitely look at those games Smile

Obviously don't know what space you have but we always used to take a rounders set for a family game.

Pack of cards with matchsticks for betting
Hula hoop
A ball
A variety of 'scary' stories

And gaffa tape, not fun but always take gaffa tape when camping.

The campsite might be a bit tight for rounder but we’re right be the beach so that’s another good call, thank you Smile

Inflatable pass the pigs game

This looks just like the kid of fun thing I was after. Thank you Thanks

How old are DCs? When ours were toddlers/preschoolers we brought our old small festival tent and filled it with duplo or similar. It kept the small toys contained as well as providing a dry space to play. We were camping with some other families with similarly aged kids, so it was a good central play space (and kept them from rampaging across our beds!).

Otherwise:
Mystic fire
Swingball
Aquaplay
Uno/Dobble etc

BunnyRuddington · 25/06/2021 19:54

Sorry, should have said, they are big teens now Smile

We went at the weekend , lots of people had fancy fairy lights round their tents and one or two had a disco light type light inside their tent that lit up the inside with fancy patterns .
Not really anything useful but a nice little extra to make you smile

Solar lights

Talipesmum · 29/06/2021 19:48

Beach boules set - good for playing in limited spaces.

Namechangeforthis88 · 09/07/2021 11:40

Since Covid we take at least one "Exit the room" escape room game in a box. Family activity in the tent if the weather is poor. Last week the weather was so good we struggled to finish even one in the whole week!

BunnyRuddington · 09/07/2021 22:17

Thanks so much for the recent suggestions Smile

Someone has already said it, but definitely fairy lights! They somehow make the whole thing much better Smile

Already got those, they're great aren't they? Smile

Taking a ‘toy tent’ is a genius idea, I am 100% stealing that.

MintyCedric · 11/07/2021 13:45

Grown up camping with best mate but probably OK for older teens...we took Tarot cards...and glowsticks with a variety of adapters to make different things Grin

MintyCedric · 11/07/2021 13:47

Balloon modelling kit
Face paints

I am possibly not that much of a grown up

ReviewingTheSituation · 11/07/2021 13:54

Molkky. It's a nordic game with wooden 'skittles'. Brilliant game for adults and kids alike. We always play in teams. Sounds complicated when you read the rules, but you only have to play it once to realise it's very simple. Make sure you get a full size version, not a 'toy' or lightweight one.
