Roof (hard) box V roof (soft) bag

Just that really ... I like the idea of a bag for winter storage. Appreciate it’s not as waterproof, but would maybe put table / chairs in it rather than bedding. What’s everyone’s thoughts / experiences??

Just bought a roof bag for £50 off amazon and detachable soft roof racks for £35 from Argos after seeing the price of a full kitted roof box.

It's bloody amazing and money well spent. So glad I didn't fork out for a roof box

Bag is easier to store but I feel box is porewater proof.
We have a place locally that rents boxes out

DP bought some roof racks after the realisation of how much extra stuff DD meant we needed to take, with the intention of borrowing his boss's roof bag but found he couldn't due to the glass sunroof on the car. Luckily another friend had a solid roof box we could borrow instead

A box is good, but remember that the heavy stuff goes in the car not the box!

Thanks all :-)
£50 Amazon sounds like a bargain! Think I’ll try that for now and see how I go ..

Soft. You can jam more stuff into it.

We have a bag, it's great although a bit of a hassle to get up there and secure. Only put bedding in it really and coats but frees up tons of space in car. Can only be arsed if going for a week or more.
