Santander to Costa Brava

Holiday booked Pre covid to a campsite on the Costa Brava, ferry into Santander and a couple of nights there with some distant relatives.
We are driving from Santander to the Costa Brava for the first time - any good tips or recommendations for a stop off? We plan to break the journey up and overnight somewhere (not camping)

I would check your ferry is still going...loads are getting cancelled !

Ferries have resumed albeit changes to service.
First thing I checked obviously.

I had heard P&O were cancelling a lot of their Spanish sailings from the U.K.

We have done overnight stops in Zaragoza and Tarragona, both of which I would highly recommend. Zaragoza can get very hot though. I also imagine that Huesca would be a nice place to spend an afternoon and evening.
