We have a site booked but not sure how to proceed- are ferries / Eurostar operating ? Shall we assume we'll be able to get there and book our transport? 🙏🙏🙏

I think you'll be able to get there in August, yes. The question is, are the beaches and lakes open? I understand you can swim at the moment, but I'm not sure if you're allowed to sit/picnic on the beach/sunbathe. Perhaps someone else knows?

The transport may be running, French sites may be open, who knows? My question would be will the French require UK visitors to quarantine on arrival, and will anyone who had travelled be required to isolate on returning home?

Spain, Greece and Cyprus are saying they will not admit UK visitors because of our infection level, I think?

We've moved our booking to next year. The main reason for that is because my travel insurance won't cover anything COVID related. I think j the chance of us getting sick is small but it's real.
When we go camping in France my kids enjoyment is pretty much all based on meeting and playing with other children. If social distancing rules are in place then they won't be able to do that. It's not going to be the holiday we want, so we'll give it w miss until things go back to some semblance of normality.

Le Shuttle is about to release guaranteed-refund tickets for summer crossings. Camp sites are opening or have summer openings scheduled across Europe (lots of info available online), the unknown is how welcome campers from Plague Island will be.

We cancelled our place and got vouchers for next year. It's now open to French families. I can maybe see self catering / second homes opening up but not sites with shared facilities.

We have a campsite booked in southern France for 2 weeks mid-end August. We booked ferry crossing months ago but I still don't know if these are going to be operating at full capacity. Out of interest, I checked the Eurotunnel this morning - this is our usual method of crossing the channel but we're going to south west France this year, so ferry to Cherbourg made more sense. Usually, it's about £350 to take our car and trailer through the tunnel - current prices are over £600 for the same return journey if booked now, which is insane.

To be honest, I'm not even sure if I want to go if social distancing and queuing for the supermarket is required. How do you social distance on a campsite and share washing/shower facilities anyway? Restaurants usually have tightly packed tables in a small outdoor space, cafes on pavements, popular markets are busy during the summer: they may want tourists from within France, but will they really want anyone from the UK?
