Any guesses when we will be able to camp again?

I've kind of given up on my holiday this year in France.

However, I live in Cornwall and have a lovely bell tent! so, with the kids off it would be great to make the most of it.

I know that we probably wont be able to move around the country for a while, but maybe within our own county?

Any thoughts?

I think the prime minister is giving some idea today with more details to follow on monday so best to see what he says. Anything you hear up til then is speculation

We lost out on Easter camping in the Netherlands, but they have announced campsites there will be open from 1st July. Obviously, that's a foreign country and travel restrictions might be in place to get there. We have UK campsites booked for August and I am still hoping they go ahead.

I know we will know more tomorrow after the PM has made his speech, but I see so many articles about when shops, pubs etc might start to open up.

Obviously during any of his speeches he won't specifically mention camping.

My thread was more to get some opinions about when we 'think' we may be able to camp. When some shops open, when cafes open?

Any thoughts?

We were thinking of going away mid to end of October camping - would feel safe by then we feel of things continue to improve gradually

We've got a pitched poker from 31st July and I've still got my fingers crossed.

We stayed in Cornwall last year and the site has just said that they are hoping to reopen on 1st July.

I'm hoping for the summer. Preferably abroad but I won't be too choosy on that one...

I'm hoping for August / early Sept before the schools go back. We hadn't got round to booking any holidays this year, camping or otherwise and it would be nice to get away for a bit.

I can't see how. Shared bathroom facilities are likely to be a problem. Caravan sites maybe,?

We have a tent pitch booked in Wales for two weeks at the end of July. We are going to transfer it to 2021. The site owners are actually encouraging this but we've been holding out until now.

Even if the site is open I can't see how communal showers can work. Shopping will still be tricky and that has to be done regularly due to only having a cool box.

We're provisionally booked for two trips in Scotland, 13-17 July (glamping, bell tent) and 22-29 July (own tent). Pretty confident on the 22nd to 29th as tourism has been told to prepare for 15th July in Scotland, all being well. I'm thinking showers and toilets as normal but hand gel afterwards due to touching door handles, but it remains to be seen.

We've warned DS it might be different to what he's used to, just some walks, maybe bike rides. I'm booking bike hire for me, the lads will take theirs on the roof rack. Bike hire are is already open. Kayak hire is taking bookings. I had previously resigned myself to not going away at all.

If it's relevant, we're in Scotland to start with, we'll be on the road for 90 minutes max.
