Family sized tent

I have a 4 birth tent which is ok, but after camping in the rain and all 2 adults and 2 children squeezing into the living area to drink our hot choc, found out it's not big enough Smile. So I am looking for a family sized tent with a pretty big living area but on a budget. Does anyone have any good recommendations or brands to stay clear of. Seen a few on various websites but not sure with out looking if they will be big enough etc. Thanks

i would wait to buy one can you imagine with this lockdown anyone will be camping this season. They will end up having to shift stock, meaning theres likely to be a good sale this year .I would wait and keep a eye out

I am hoping that this lockdown will be reduced by august i am dying to go camping as well

We have the same tent as linked to above. Worked fine for 10 days in France (quite a lot of rain, sadly). Three of us, but DS is 6’2”.

We have a vango Icarus 500 plus the awning and it does the job for 5 of us!

We have a 10yo Vango Oregon 800 tunnel tent, which is brilliant, so I'd recommend the brand.

Also have a smaller Decathlon 4 man tent now that the teens refuse to camp.

I would probably wait until you can get to a store with a display area so you can see one up and test out all the openings, size up the living areas etc.

We have the kalahari 8. Plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 children and a good budget option. It has stood up to summer storms pretty well.

The kampa studland is a great tent but it's quite expensive. What's your budget?

Vango Madison 600 XL. Porch, separate living area, side door. Perfect

My personal advice is go for the largest berth with the best rain protection you can get in your budget.
If you only intend on being a 4 I would go for at least a 6 berth and get separate rooms. 😊

Thanks all. I was planning to go and look at some before all this happened. Looking at 2 bedrooms and the tunnel tents. Will use this time to try and save a bit more to up my budget Smile

We have this and LOVE it! DH and I with two boys. We can erect in 20 mins max. Same taking down, well maybe a little longer. Not light to carry. Dry and sturdy. Would recommend
