Camping La Grainetière on Île de Ré

Hello,

Has anyone ever been to the ‘camping la Grainetière’ on île de ré ? If so, what is it like? We would be staying in a 2 bed mobile home.

And if you prefer another campsite in the island, which one would you recommend?

Thank you!

We really liked it when we went, but it’s quite a few years ago. The pool was great for our small children. It’s next to a busy road so there was some noise, but relatively easy to get onto the cycle path.

We were in our own tent, and pitches were fine. Friends who stayed in their own van also enjoyed it. Friends who stayed in a mobile were slightly more critical of the atmosphere (and slightly over-zealous checking of contents at end of stay), but that might just be them ;-)

Definitely need to book.

The island is lovely.

Thank you, that’s really useful to know. How long does it take to cycle to La Flotte and to St Martin?

I don’t cycle, but OH and 5/6yr old (I think) managed both just fine. La Flotte easy (but quite busy day on back streets), St Martin straightforward on the cycle route. They also enjoyed route from the campsite to Lois, across the salt flats. Google maps says its 37 mins on a bike, but they took it easy with plenty of stops over a couple of hours I think. The cycling is easy - flat, off road ... people with kids and dogs in trailers everywhere. Possible to hire from the campsite.

Thank you! We booked a mobile home the other day for July, I can’t wait!
