It's as I suspected. It is width that makes all the difference.....

Now then.

Having really struggled with getting enough decent quality sleep when camping, I bought a wider thermarest, and it really did help. Just thought I'd share that with you all.

And the 'posh shiny new tent'.........

The replacement arrived yesterday! Original one leaked in 6 different places - admittedly in very bad weather. We would have preferred I think to get a different tent altogether, but we'll see how the new one does! Will be changing my name, I think.

But how THICK is it? (The thermarest, I mean!). I'm considering thermarests for when, note when, our airbed collapses on our next camping trip. It's a family tradition that at least one of us ends up in a tangled, aching heap on a flattened, cold sheet of deflated plastic at least ONCE per holiday. Thermarests may be expensive but I figure that we could have bought a dozen over the years for what we've paid in replacing airbeds.

5cm thick. - Thermarest Basecamp Large, I think. 'Twas not cheap, but hey, what price sleep?

Well, tongue was thrust firmly in cheek at the time of posting, as 'twere.......

I got into a similar muddle once reading someone's thread about problems with their rabbit.
