It's SIMs for me. Do I really need 10cm ones?

SIMs here too. My hips are hurting. Willing to spend a bit for something decent. We don’t need any other kit.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 02/10/2019 16:04

DH wants a trailer we can keep packed so we can do last minute weekend trips in good weather.

BouleBaker · 02/10/2019 16:07

A camp bed. Or possibly a really good SIM. Will see what I can see.

turkeyboots · 02/10/2019 16:07

I need an individual size tent for Guide camp, needs to a easy put and down as have no DH to be manual labour! And needs to be big enough for my camp bed plus sim, and loads and loads of random crap I always end up looking after. Eyeing up something inflatable but worried about deflating it.

WannabeGlamper · 02/10/2019 19:35

I'd also like some sleeping bag liners actually 🤔.

I am umming and aaaahing about a tripod for the fire.
But I don’t really need one.

PurBal · 10/10/2019 21:29

New sleeping bag. New liner.

tinofbeans · 10/10/2019 21:39

Don't get Sims, air mats are better! We have 3 Alpkit Cloudbases and I've just been given a Sea to Summit comfort light insulated for my birthday... very excited about its first outing next week! Grin

tinofbeans · 10/10/2019 21:42

As for next year, currently saving up for new sleeping bags for the kids - either snugpak softie expansion 3 or snugpak softie 3 equinox. I'd also like to get DD a deuter Fox 40 rucksack for our expeditions, but they are quite expensive Sad

Beamur · 10/10/2019 21:44

I have a fabulous XL thermarest SIM, but it's huge. Went camping with friends and took a cheaper one from Decathlon which was fine but got air mat envy. Friend has this dinky little thing that inflated with just a few breaths. I want one now.

happycamper11 · 10/10/2019 21:47

Still looking for a good but not bank breaking camping kitchen/table. Seems harder to source than most other bits

WannabeGlamper · 11/10/2019 16:00

Oh, I'm not sure now. I get sore hips on my air bed, and thought a SIM was the answer.

OP posts:
tinofbeans · 11/10/2019 16:38

There's a world of difference between cheap Tesco airbeds, Sims and air mats.... it depends on what type of camping you'll be doing as to what will suit you best..

OneForMeToo · 11/10/2019 17:44

Bunk beds for the girls and a trailer. Just upgraded the boy to a camp bed rather than air bed.

PaulaSmith1 · 15/10/2019 10:45

VW T4 or T5 with pop top and kitchen - is anyone selling one?

BloodyWorried · 15/10/2019 12:38

Not next year but for this year we need a heater for our last camp of the year: happy to take recommendations need something suitable for young children. My biggest concern is most that I’ve seen have varied outputs and I’m concerned that they like switches and would trip the power.

WannabeGlamper · 16/10/2019 20:19

BloodyWorried - I bought this heater, it seems fine:

A tent we got one last year used it for a wk, got it out this year and it leaked. Luckily we got our money back as other falts as well but now we are without a family tent.

SeaOtterFluff · 16/10/2019 20:29

I'm saving for a trailer. Up until this summer, we were living in a terraced house without a driveway so no chance of storing one. Now we've got a garage! It'll be great to hitch and go for weekends away again.

Owlsintowels · 16/10/2019 20:52

I was a tent shelving unit! Friends have one, v useful for putting all their kitchen bits in, basically a small kitchen unit, or could use as a chest of drawers Grin

Also want tent twinkly lights and maybe a solar charger. Poss these two items could go together somehow

WannabeGlamper · 16/10/2019 21:06

I'd quite like these battery fairy lights:

I might wait until post Xmas and snap up some lights in the sales. These ones are very cute

OneForMeToo · 24/10/2019 12:15

Got my trailer so that’s ticked off Grin just the bunk beds and now added a utility tent to the list Grin Grin

With heaters ours was from B&M and although adjustable it’s a twist nob to change temp and to turn on and off.

Mysterian · 29/10/2019 17:15

A tent. I'd like a 2 or 3 person canvas one.

alislim · 01/11/2019 21:36

Those of you looking at sims, can I recommend the outwell dream boat. I have slipped discs in my back and have an awful time sleeping anywhere apart from my bed.
This is great imo x
