We are about to camp on Ile de Re for 10 days and are after recommendations of beaches, restaurants, markets, and leisure centres and museums in La Rochelle for if its cold and rainy. Thanks lovely people!

Ooh, lucky you - it's beautiful! La Flotte and St Martin are both lovely - La Flotte has live music in the evenings and both have fabulous markets to mooch around.
Couarde sur Mer is a lovely beach and little town.
Definitely hire bikes - I don't even like cycling especially but there are cycle paths everywhere and it's the easiest way to get around. We had those big upright European bikes with baskets on the front so we could take them shopping too.
Just take more money than you ever believed it was possible to spend on a camping holiday - it's pricy.

Where are you staying? I have no recommendations but have always wanted to camp there so feedback appreciated 😀

We stayed on a Huttopia site - would recommend although it wasn't that near the beach if that's important to you.
