Bell Tent Died

Hi my lovely and trusty soul pad ease died in the wind last night as the center pole went through the roof.

Two questions - does anyone know if bell tents can be repaired?

And should the top of the center Pole have some sort of cap on? We bought our second hand it didnkt have anything. But I just wondered.

It should have a rubber cap on top of the pole and it should be repairable by a manufacturer. Have a google and see if you have one local to you, sometimes at a push, a sail maker can also do repairs for you. Or you can ask anyone local to you in Scouting if they know who they have used to repair tents in the past.

Oh no!

As gibble said there should be a saucer shaped rubber / plastic / silicone cap that sits on top of the pole. I am sure Soul Pad or other bell tent co can sell you one.

V naughty of the people who sold it to you.

I would start by asking Soul Pad about repairs, but the Tent Advice forum on UKCampsite has lots of people with details about tent repairs. Definitely repairable,

I hope you are ok, is your hol ruined?

Thank you for your replies - good ideas and ones I wouldnot have thought off. Luckily it was just a local weekend away. And I'm thank full it didn't go through at 2am at the height of the storm when I was crying and convinced we were all going to fly away!!!!

Bell tents are excellent in hard weather!

A repair and the missing part and all will be well.
