Looking for campsite recommendations please for Tenby or that sort of area, we have a big tent, two cars, no hook up needed. We do need it to have good showers/toilets as DH is a novice camper and needs a bit of luxury! Quiet site rather than big ideally. Must take dogs. Thanks!

We've just got back from this amazing site! It has so much space, even peak season tents were really spread out. Pristine toilets and shower block...lovely hot showers. And a large indoor dining area with massive fridges, freezers, toasters, microwave and boiling water dispenser. We found it via trip advisor and chose it because of the great ratings and I can honestly say we weren't disappointed. It is about 1hr 15 from Tenby, but St David's is only 15 minutes away which was equally as nice, and loads of lovely beaches, including the amazing White Sands beach and the Blue Lagoon. www.celtic-camping.co.uk

I was going to suggest Meadow Farm, which is 5 mins walk up the hill from North Beach, but it's not really luxury. We stayed there last year and due to return this Friday for a week. I heard that they were upgrading the loos and showers for this year. It's a lovely site and very friendly owners. You can have fires (in fire pit) which really helps as the weather can be iffy.

Not exactly Tenby but very nicely presented.
New owners. They've updated their shower/toilet blocks. Really nice. Pool looked amazing.

We stopped off for a nose around, hoping to have a few days free end of summer.

Hi all thanks so much for suggestions...for various reasons we can't go now...but maybe next year. I love that area so much. Thanks again .

Just a quick update on Meadow Farm Campsite. Last year they said they were going to upgrade the facilities ie loos, showers, wash up station. They have not. They have however invested in many more hook up pitches which means more motor homes and caravans, which is a positive for some but not for me. Also they have employed a manager who is very intrusive and quite a jobs worth. It's a shame as it's the closest campsite to beach and town. We will come back but really, the loos and showers are grim (although hot water at least) and there is only one sink which is not covered so not ideal as it rains a fair bit here.

Also, one is allowed fires here but we had someone complain to us last night about our fire at 9pm. They were in a motor home and did not know fires were allowed. Fortunately the manager directed them to a different pitch but I imagine this will be an ongoing problem if they are gearing the site more in favour of motor homes.

Just got back from Newgale Beach campsite about 7 miles from St David's. Facilities are clean and basic - no kitchen per se, but indoor washing up, large freezer for blocks, decent loos and showers (coin-operated), free wi-fi, pub next door, pizzas for sale in the evenings and breakfasts in the morning, next door to surfing school, hardware store (!), HUGE sandy beach with lifeguards. The cost for three of us, one car and a decent size tent was £20 a night. EHU would have been an extra fiver a night. Dog-friendly (as is the beach).

It also lives up to its name... was a tad windy! But this summer everywhere's been windy. Campsite's on the centre right of the pic.

I really recommend Into The Sticks at Letterston. Only 5 pitches, lots of space, no electric, campfires allowed, very quiet, natural surroundings. Less than 30 minutes from Newgale beach.
It has composting loos but they don’t smell. Owners are friendly, sell homemade bread and do a weekly pizza night!
Only drawback is no hot water in sinks (only in shower) so you need to bring a kettle of hot water.
