We camped when mine were similarly small. It feels like you’re taking half the house but so fun !!
Ours were used to black-out so for years we took a dark shower curtain that I’d found somewhere and pegged it up to block out light...

About 10 million wipes
Baby friendly inset repellent

Depending on how your tent porch is, and your beach day arrangements, I would consider a tarp for shade www.gooutdoors.co.uk/15903167/freedomtrail-ft-tarp-15903167/?istCompanyId=c2ec8a5d-93c1-4850-a97a-f4d89d7c99c8&istFeedId=2755fba0-7dfe-46a9-bfd0-09b37aed8b93&istItemId=wapiilaql&istBid=t&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIlKLV_9vc4wIVzbTtCh1dSgu8EAQYBCABEgL_jfD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds or www.decathlon.co.uk/tarp-fresh-camping-shelter-id_8300081.html

Shallow plastic trug to wash / bath them in?

mummywingingit · 30/07/2019 14:34

Forgot to put got a baby beach tent that has UV50 protection that will be used on beach and at tent for shade...also have a large fishing parasol that we take for dogs.

The paddling pool will be used for the bath if the family bathroom (only one) is in use and has a large que.

I got a snooze shade as a gift that is a blackout blind as such that attaches to the pram, not used yet, but hear the reviews are really good!

Need to get a baby friendly first aid kit!

If you take a plastic storage box with you it can double as storage / bath /paddling pool and table when you put the lid on. It is also safer than a paddling pool because you can put the lid back on it and stuff on top so DC cant get access to it.. If you fill it up in the morning when you come back it should be nice and warm if it is a sunny day.

TheRedBarrows · 30/07/2019 17:28

That's genius, Singleandproud - a solar heated bath in a box!

TheRedBarrows · 30/07/2019 21:39

I am impressed, OP, that you are camping for 2 weeks with a 6m old, quite brave. I am sure you will get into the rhythm of it and have a really chilled time.

mummywingingit · 30/07/2019 21:50

@TheRedBarrows I will have lots of support as whole family goes, so plenty of people to help me and husband is coming the second week!
I've been camping since I was 6 weeks old, so thought why not give it a go...probably bonkers and will regret it...but hey ho! Won't know until I try 😊 if I didn't have the family support, o don't think I would be quite so brave

It sounds brilliant!

Constance1234 · 30/07/2019 22:09

We took our son camping for the first time when he was 8 weeks old. It's so much easier before they start moving independently! Have a great time :) Do you have a sling like an Ergobaby one? We found this invaluable.

Greggers2017 · 30/07/2019 22:19

I'm off to Cornwall on Saturday camping for 2 weeks, although baby is only 6 weeks so just need my boobies!

mummywingingit · 30/07/2019 22:50

@Constance1234 yes I've got a ergo sling and a wrap thingy too...taking both as backup for areas that aren't great for buggy! My boy loves close contact and really touchy feely atm so I think he will like the carriers!

@Greggers2017 I hope the weather is nice for you 😊 you in a tent or caravan/camper?
We're going in a tent

@mummywingingit we're in a tent too. I've been going to the same site every year since my big kids were little. We love it down there. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 for good weather

mummywingingit · 31/07/2019 14:14

@Greggers2017 we go to the same site each year too!
The one I went to at 6 weeks old 😊 I'm now 33 and taking my baby...so many memories...which part do you stay? We're near padstow

Greggers2017 · 31/07/2019 15:41

Were near Perranporth, I'm like you been going since I was small.
My partner even proposed there last year. So
Many happy memories.

Watching with interest as we have just bought our first tent and will be taking our 7 month old in September.

I went on my own when ds was 6/7 mos and dd1 was 2.5. In the end I actually put the toddler in the travel cot and coslept with the baby on the (highly inflated) air bed. Trying to negotiate an air bed and a travel cot in a tent in the dark in the middle of night with a baby who was feeding every two hours lasted the first feed lol. With co-sleeping I also knew he was warm enough - dd1 was a bit more robust!
It was fantastic. Great fun. Filthy, obv.
