Vango or Coleman tent?

We need to replace our tent of 15 years!

I've whittled it down to the following: Vango Farnham 500 or 600 or the
Coleman Tent Pinto Mountain 5 Plus

I can find few reviews about the Coleman so I wondered if anyone has either of these tents and if they're any good? Does it withstand rain well?

Is the sleeping area in the Vango actually good for keeping light out (described as lights out, not blackout like the coleman)

We have the Vango Icarus 500DLX which has the “lights out” feature and although the bedroom pods are darker than the living area, I wouldn’t say they are significantly so. There definitely isn’t a blackout effect. It’s probably the only thing about the tent that I would improve!

Really worth getting blackout. Makes a huge difference to how well you sleep IME - our tent bedrooms are darker than our house bedrooms!

Out Coleman has blackout. The rooms are so dark you need a torch to see past your hands!

We are currently waiting for delivery of our Vango Avington 600xl, due Monday, or hopefully even today.
Can’t wait to try it out.

Sorry, I meant to say it’s very familiar to the Farnham, being a tunnel tent.
There are only two of us, but as dh is 6ft 5, we needed height and space.
We’ve definitely got both there 😁.
Which did you choose, if you have chosen?

Vango say ‘lights out’ rather than ‘black out ‘ and their inners are just that bit greyer, dulling the light coming in. Nowhere near actual blackout.

But I looked round some blackout tents at a display last week and didn’t like them at all. Far too claustrophobic. So I would have a look, if you can.
