Tent with sewn in groundsheet in porch/living area?

Does this exist? We camp a lot and have used a variety of tents, all of which have a sewn in groundsheet for the bedrooms. But the porch/living area always has a separate groundsheet. I understand that this makes it easier to clean etc and helps with ventilation but inevitably it does mean that the porch and living area just get wet and soggy and they’re very cold. The groundsheet never stays in place either.

I’ve looked high and low but I can’t find any tents that have a completely sewn in groundsheet. Can anybody help?

My outwell Rockwell 3 has a completely sewn in ground sheet, it's not family sized but outwell might have other bigger tents with a similar construction.

One of my favourite purchases. Not cheap, and canvas (not polyester), but so dry and warm and clean to camp in.

My friend has a 2 person Coleman where the porch ground sheet zips to the bedroom groundsheet.

NannyR · 30/06/2019 21:12

outwell - these all seem to have sewn in groundsheets in the living area.

We have this one for 5 of us. The groundsheet is fully sewn in, and the bedrooms are pods that you put in afterwards. We have a separate porch area as well that isn't sewn in, but the living space in the main tent is really pretty large, just use the porch for shoes and the stove and chairs overnight etc.

We have a Coleman Mosedale 5 and it’s got a sewn in ground sheet. We’ve just bought the front extension and that has a sewn in ground sheet too.

tinofbeans · 30/06/2019 21:27

We have a Berghaus Air 6 which has a sewn in groundsheet. I would actually prefer not to have it because Inworry it I try to cook in the tent, I'll burn the whole thing down :-(

Loads of tents have sewn in groundsheets in tne living area Confused

Tell us what other qualities / size you need and so we can recommend.

freshcottoncandles · 30/06/2019 21:45

Do they TheRedBarrows? I must be missing something. All the ones I’ve used/seen have SIGs for the bedrooms but not in the centre of the tent and there’s always a gap between the walls and the groundsheet.

Thank you for the suggestions all! Will have a look through now. Glad to know it exists and I’ve just been unlucky in my search so far!

Ah: are you looking at vis a vis tents? The style that has a sleeping pod at each end and living space in the middle? The Eurohike Buckingham Elite on sale through Millets and the GoOutdoors Kalahari and Zenobia tents in this style have fully SIG.

Tunnel tents Icarus by Vango , for example, lots of the GoOitdoors tents.

freshcottoncandles · 30/06/2019 23:36

Ah Red you’re a superstar. Thanks so much for giving me some specifics. Ooooh decisions decisions Grin

There are some great deals in the Millets sale.

TheRedBarrows · 30/06/2019 23:43

Also, sorry, I meant ‘Iris’ by Vango, Icarus was a previous model.

Yeah, I love our Zenobia - but do get the extra porch add on if you can afford it, it makes a huge difference as you can leave shoes etc there and the inside stays really clean and dry. If I was buying it again, I would have gone for the Kalahari so I could get two double air beds in each end though, DH and I sharing a double doesn't really work. With the Zenobia, I can get a double and single in each end obviously the double is mine

Bridie84 · 01/07/2019 23:17

Our Vango marista has a sewn in ground sheet in the living room and a clip in one for the porch

BiddyPop · 02/07/2019 09:55

I have a Vango beta xl 450, and use the same only 550 size for Cubs. The inner has a bedroom with completely sewn in ground sheet and the living area one is part of that single inner and clips to the edges of the tent so it generally stays in place reasonably well.

The older scouts use a brand called Royal (something) and their tents have 2 large bedrooms (1 at each end) with living space in the middle - I think theirs are similar in being all 1 inner and clipped to tent, but less mobile due to size and shape . But much larger tents.

TrickyKid · 02/07/2019 10:02

Don't all modern tents have attached ground sheets? We've never had one that doesn't. We put a separate one under the tent too but the whole tent including living area has a floor. Try go outdoors.

TheRedBarrows · 02/07/2019 16:25

Several of the Decathlon Quechua tents do not have a SIG.

Also some of the Vango tents made for budget prices for specific outlets have a 'linked in' groundsheet, where there is a groundsheet sewn into the porch, but it doesn't continue under the bedroom pods.

Clockers41 · 05/07/2019 00:20

We have a kampa croyde 6 poled tent - it has a seen in ground sheet in the living area

Clockers41 · 05/07/2019 00:22

We have the Kalahari, got it last year and I love it!!! Having the seen in groundsheet makes a huuuge difference to my camping enjoyment as I really hate bugs!!!
In our last tent (which was also much smaller) the bedrooms were seen in but directly onto the ground and the middle bit just had a ground sheet you popped down meaning bugs would just crawl all over the bedroom bit and I was ocd about keeping the bedroom doors zipped up ALL the time!!
The Kalahari is completely sewn in and the bedrooms are extra pods that go inside so rarely get a big inside the tent now!!
Plus it’s much bigger, bedrooms are made of darker material that keeps the light out and we got the porch extension which is good for cooking in if raining, putting camp chairs, shoes, firewood etc
