Hi. I hope you can help me. Due to various reasons we haven't yet booked anywhere to camp for our summer holidays.
Because of the weather, a beach holiday might not be the best bet !
We have a very large tent.
I had thought of Red Shoot in the new forest but it has no spaces for us.
Can anyone recommend anywhere else.
We did Tom's Field (Isle of Purbeck) in Dorset last summer so fancy trying a different area this time. Although would like a beach within 40 mins so if it is ever warm and sunny we can spend the day at the seaside.

have you tried the Forestry Comission ones in the New Forest?

Not yet, though I will.
Just hoping somebody would have a recommendation. Especially sites that have stuff nearby for rainy days

we love Hollands Wood but have never been stuck there in the rain...

I went to Hollands Wood 2 years ago and it was lovely, however one heavy thunderstorm and quite a few tents were flooded out. People were bailing out tents and packing up and leaving as their sleeping bags were wet through.

May not be the best year to go....

Rose Farm in Norfolk, fantastic site with lovely clean facilities and play area for children. Owner (Sue) very friendly, caters for big tents- ours is a hartford xxl and the pitch we had was massive with loads of room to spare.

Henie, that one looks lovely.
I like the fact the site is well drained!!!!
Also like that the sea is close by in case the sun ever shines

Debbie, trust me it really is nice, you may get one of the bigger pitches over looking a farmers field which you can see lovely sunsets over- if it ever stops raining!

HenniPenni/Henie (are you the same with a name change?)

I have booked it. I spoke to Sue on the phone, she was very nice (and liked me because I know the size of my tent!).

We are going on Thursday Aug 2nd

Cannot wait, there seems to be plenty to do even if does rain. I am expecting cloudy days with a shower every now and then and if it is nice there is also a beach

Have a look at their facilities, the shower blocks look positively luxurious. I stayed there but in a chalet. It was great and ds is bugging me to go back.

Yes I'm the same person. You will enjoy Rose Farm, you've made me . Can't go again as we've already booked the IOW and later in the Cotswolds.

Hi - Just wanted to update you.
Sorry TenaLady we didn't go with your choice. But we had a lovely time at Rose Farm - Thanks for that Hennipenni.
The showers were the cleanest I have ever seen on a campsite in this country and the whole site was very well looked after.

We went there last week and got blown away! Had an argument with Sue too... We ended up leaving early as she was on the phone to some poor unsuspecting camper telling them it wasn't raining and gale force winds weren't expected
Agree the loos are great but we wont be going back!
