Which car seat for the front seat of a campervan

Hi I am thinking about getting a T6 VW campervan for adventures with partner and son who is 2 years 9 months. We want him to sit up front with us but struggling to understand if there is a car seat that will actually work ok. He is almost 18kg.

So far the only option I have come across that I think could work is the Joie Elevate.

Does anyone drive a camper van with their LO up front please?
Many recommendations gratefully received.

The man in Halfords almost put me off totally saying all seats could compromise the seatbelt! 😬 sounded like a booster would be ok so trying to work out if the Joie is ok or not!

Search the Facebook group 'car seat advice uk' for posts about camper vans.

If he's almost 18kg, the Elevate isn't going to last very long because it has an 18kg weight limit harnessed. He is too young to use it as a high back booster.

OK great thank you I will check out the FB group. It seems crazy that he is almost 18kg but 15months away from being 4z he is an average sized boy, tall but I really don’t think he is the size of a “4 year old”! Thanks I will check FB now x
