Best camp bed for 2 adults

I've gone back a few pages and can't see a recent thread. We are going on a 2 week camping trip in France this summer and i want to upgrade our current bed set up. We currently have 2 cheap metal frame beds from go outdoors and they are pretty uncomfortable. I want to get something good for me and DH, not overly fussed if single or double but double would be nice if we can both sleep comfortably - we currently have a king bed at home.

Any recommendations please? I'm open to spending a little more than before if it's comfortable and lasts well.

Thanks.

We have a self inflating double mattress which has been a game changer for us! So comfy, no bouncing like on a traditional blow up and easy to set up. Ours was from go outdoors.

Two inflatable single mattresses, held together into a double with a fitted sheet 😁

Thanks for the replies. I think I'm going to get a SIM. But which one(s)??? I probably have around £100 to spend for me and DH. I've been looking at the Vango 10cm comfort double. Or should we get 2 singles? Any recommendations??

I have a standard Tesco double air mattress and it's fine, the trick is a fleece blanket under the sheet to make it less rubbery. They do fail after a while so £20 is plenty to spend!

Ours is 20cm thick. We prefer a double as we share a double sleeping bag for warmth.

We have an Outwell Posadas double camp bed with a sim on top. It is by far the most comfortable sleeping set up we've found, although the camp bed is enormous and takes up two of the bedrooms!

Outwell SIMs here, actually ours are only 5cm but we find them great. I can't imagine a 20cm one, sound amazing... does it pack down okay?

HopeMumsnet · 16/04/2019 12:34

oh and obvious tip but with the sims a reflective foil sheet is good underneath.

I've got the single version of the outwell posadas with a vango 7.5cm SIM on top. It's so comfy, I've tried lots of different sleeping arrangements but with this one I sleep just as well as at home.

I've ordered 2 single outwell dreamcatchers today as good price in Go Oudoors, and a cheap hi gear one for DD. I plan to go into store on Saturday to see if I can test before unpacking. I'm thinking of getting a cheap double mattress topper to put over the top of them both and make a double bed.
