South of France in early June - any campsite recs?

We are thinking of getting the St Malo ferry which gets in late at night - so we are considering driving through the night to the south of France in the hope of better weather than Brittany (where we usually go)...

Does anyone have any recommendations for a site that would suit me, DH and DD (16 months)? We aren't looking for anything really lively and would use a pre-erected tent or mobile home ... toddler pool, bar, excellent takeaway, and bakery all on site would be amazing

Huttopia Sud Ardeche is a fairly relaxed and quiet site. It has a restaurant and bar, plus takeaway pizza oven and pastries/bread available to order.
Le Caussenel is a lovely site set next to a lake. www.lecaussanel.com/campsite-france-aveyron.html The baby kit is available for a small supplement and includes bath, cot and high chair.
Domaine de Sevenier is in a stunning location and had a nice pool area for toddlers. Not sure about what it provides in the way of baby kit.

The ardeche region is lovely, it’s very pretty!its a fair distance the other side though, we normally go on the Euro tunnel and drive Calais down to slightly further south than the Ardeche.

We’ve been with DS and DSS and driven lots, we found the most wriggly age of driving was 16/17 months as they are really active and not Great at following instructions so I would try and go througg the night,.

There are sooo many independent campsites in France so I would stir away from Eurocamp as that can just be overpriced. You are off season though so it might not be as expensive

Thanks both - will look in more detail at the Ardeche, it looks absolutely stunning. Is the weather reliable at that time of year?

It will be warm but can be quite stormy around that time of year, if you go later though it can be too warm.. we tend to go late July early August and a few years it’s been 37/38degrees! Too hot for the little one who spend most time in a bouncer next to a fan! Haha!!
My parents are out there June - sept and they can still use their pool (outdoors) eat outside and get a good tan from the sun however you do get some spectuclar storms as well!

Yes we're trying to avoid July and Aug due to costs as well as the heat! I love the sun but high 30s is a bit much even for me
