Day Tents

We're thinking of getting one for when camping with group of friends or extenstion to our weekend tent.

Went to Wokingham camping exhibition today and saw some Khyam ones and one other brand. Yes, they're great quality, could use for a garden party but all big metal poles. Or hideous price.

I'm after something that can erect very quickly and isn't more expensive that the tent [grin} Almost like the dome of a tent with out the sleeping areas!

Saw a toilet tent which uses the flexi poles rather than metal frame tent style. Almost tempted as at least you could cook in it just . Now if they had one 4 x's the side it'd be perfect.

OK did a search on utility tent rather than day tent and got more options.

They don't say how constructed but judging by the weight must be fibreglass. I want something that's very quick to put up and take down. What do you think of the above?

What about this one from Argos at half price it looks a good deal, and it only weighs 2.3kg!

any good?

Aha, looks like "a version of this www.campingandleisure.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=1_103&products_id=985&osCsid=aa6c2 3cf6c3344cb8e1ddb45a8f5e22b" but lighter.

They are very similar aren't they?

We don't need one but I have friends that swear by them to keep all the cooking stuff away from their lo's.

Were you looking for one to sit in or for cooking in?

Blueblob · 10/07/2007 21:20

I think to cook in really. Idea of one to sit in appeals but don't honestly need that. Yes somewhere to cook if the weathers really bad for both our tents.

Our other tent is large enough to cook in but with 2 youngsters it feels safer when wet to be away from the main tent! Both my children are accident prone
