Honeymoon/Familymoon in Scotland

Hi there, we're looking at going camping for a few days in Scotland (Glasgow residing, no more than 6 hours drive ideally) for our Honeymoon in June. We'd like to take our DD who will be around 14 months and has never been camping before. Partner has gone camping a few times before and I was avid camper in teens through scouts but as we will have baby with us we don't want to go too off-road. We're looking for recommendations of campsites that have playparks. Have asked for a hiking backpack with toddler seat on wedding registry so not too worried about walks in the area not being completely pram friendly - we have a mountain buggy if need be. I've always loved the pitlochtry area and I have family that we can visit. Somewhere with a little village or cornershop would be lovely Alternatively somewhere on the coast would be lovely for visiting beaches. We're also considering the Isle of Arran but we have both been on day trips many times before as it is a favourite of ours so would rather consider other islands. What's your favourite places?

Wester Bonnyton is a lovely coastal site with a playground and indoor play barn. It's on a farm and there are chickens and Shetland ponies which were a big hit with my LOs!

Couple of nice options on Kintyre - three hours or so from Glasgow. So not too tough a drive. But far enough away to feel different.

Lots of things to do too in the area.

HI! Congratulations! Hope you have a great honeymoon!
Have you looked at Craigtoun? It's about 2 and a half hours from Glasgow (but maybe a little longer if you'll be adding some time on for stops with your little one!), and has great childrens facilities as well as being close the beach (and the golf course if that's your thing). It's not so wild that it will be a shock to the system after such a long time away from camping. And the area is beautiful.

Love the idea of a honeymoon in Pitlochry, that's where I got married! I don't have a recommendation of a campsite there, but definitely worth a trip anyway to hike / amble in that area, it's precious! I'd recommend stopping for lunch next to the river, they're very accommodating for families. www.portnacraig.com/

Have a great time!
