Peak District recommendations

Can anyone recommend a really nice family friendly, quiet and peaceful campsite in the peak District.

Not bothered by play areas or swimming pools. Definitely don't want any type of club houses / entertainment centres. Definitely want clean hot showers and proper clean flushing toilets.

Any recommendations.

Went edale. If you don't mind league of gentlemen it's ok. Good walking but the worse campsite I've ever been to. Try hayfield, big campsite. Buxton have a few,and Macclesfield

I have stayed at Barn Farm and Knotlow Farm but both are quite big sites, and busy at weekends/holidays. Beech croft farm is less busy and the toilet/shower facilities reflect that.

A few others I have not tried but are on my list:
Packhorse farm,
Tannenbaum
Middlehills
Common End
Bank top
Mount Pleasant
Pomeroy
Lathkill Dale

Camped at both of these and would go again they are great!

There are a few at Edale the one I listed above is stunning, lots of kids having fun but not butlins vibe.

Two pubs within walking distance is you can't be bothered cooking and beautiful hikes up kinder account if that's your thing. There was a stone baked pizza van in the village at weekends when we went and it was awesome!

Hayfield is lovely - flat well maintained campsite. There are 4 food serving pubs ( recom Packhorse and Sporty - you may have to book for both) withing walking distance. It is clean - toilets, shower, laundry but no swimming pool (if you want - but it doesn't sound as if you do) there are municipal ones at New Mills and Glossop. The campsite has a small play area, but there is a parish owned rec in the village with fenced toddler play area and then an adventure play area for older kids, skate ramps and a new pump track. Loads of walking, mountain bike riding and the like. For self catering food on Saturdays there is a bakery van and a vege van 2x small shops. Supermarkets can be found at Chapel (co-op, Morrisons and Aldi), Glossop (Tesco's & Aldi), New Mills (Co-op and Metro Sainsburys with farmers market on a Thursday night).

If it is raining - Manchester and Sheffield are both within an hours drive, Blue John Mines 10 -15 minutes away, Buxton, Hope, Castleton, Edale are not far. Don't come for May Queen - it always rains.
