first time camping any advice re:sleeping bags for adults and kids

They have a gsm (I think) rating and the higher the number the warmer they are. Even if you camp in July, get the warmest bags you can find. Nights can be chilly (or effing freezing even!).

We have rectangular duvet style sleeping bags for us - two singles which we zip together, from www.outdoorworld.co.uk. They are Hi Gear Como King on offer 2 for £29. The only thing is they aren't the most compact of sleeping bags, but we aren't compact campers!

The children have mummy style 2 season ones which we use inside their ready bed.

Oh, and we have another single duvet style one opened up and thrown on top! I like to feel like I'm at home. Really cosy

sallystrawberry and I have this sleeping bag from Argos It's flannel lined so lovely and warm!

Aldi have season 2 ones for £5 each (not tried them out yet though)

Cheers for all the advice. DD5 has decided that only criteria for choice is that it is Pink Have noticed lots of people also use blankets, duvets etc. Will only be camping in the summer so outwith a decent sl.bag is other stuff really needed?

No you will be fine - unless you feel the cold!

I'm always too warm in the tent - take bedsocks and extra layers instead of duvets etc.
