October Camping

Has anybody any recommendations for places to camp in October? I know it's going to be pretty cold so am prepped for that, it's more of where to head where there's bike rides walks and other things to do to keep the kids entertained. Preferably places that allow bbq and open fires. Thanks!

Any particular part of the country? Have a few recommendations for the SE but won't be much good if you are in Scotland!

All of the following have good cycle paths and an indoor heated pool plus decent play areas and several nearby attractions.
Waveney River Centre in Norfolk.
Whitemead Forest Park in Gloucestershire
Crow's Nest in North Yorkshire

We camped here a couple of years ago ( in the snow) and it was fabulous.
