French camping holiday

Hi all, my partner and I are thinking of French camping next year with our 6 year old son. Ideally by the coast, somewhere safe to help a 6 year old learn some surfing or where we can take him kayaking. Walks would be great, local places to eat or have a cuppa.

Can anyone recommend anywhere?

What type of site and accommodation? Mobile homes or tents? Lodges?

Plage de Goulien is fabulous for kayaking, surfing and rock pooling. It's an hour and a half from Roscoff and Brest. Campsite is almost on the beach and also has some cabins which are ideal if you don't want to stay under canvass.
